Larry attended school at the University of Nebraska- Kearney, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology before continuing his education in Counseling, Theology, & Philosophy. Throughout Larry’s career he has served in various professional positions as a: Child Protection Caseworker, Community Centered Board Case Manager, Program Coordinator for treatment program for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), and a Counselor at a residential treatment center for adolescents with behavioral and mental health conditions. He has approximately 30 years of professional experience in the field of I/DD. Larry has been with the Arc of Weld County for approximately 15 years and has held several important roles, such as Board President and Advocate. Most recently he has transitioned into the role of Executive Director, a position he has held for the last 10 years. Larry believes that self-advocates and families of individuals with I/DD are the only reason why the Arc of Weld County exists. He believes that our programing should reflect the needs of the individuals we serve. Larry strives to ensure that people with disabilities and their families are a part of the AWC’s leadership and instrumental in all decisions that are made on their behalf.
