As an Advocate with the Arc of Weld County, Catherine works toward the motto “To Better Lives!” To achieve that end, she has received training in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), mandatory reporting of abuse of at-risk adults, listening, conflict resolution, and purposeful conversations. She has experience helping people of all ages in a wide variety of roles. For nearly six years prior to joining the Arc of Weld County, Catherine provided case management to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping to ensure the people on her caseload had the services and supports they need to live independently, safely, and happily. During this time, she was fortunate to be part of Envision’s efforts to become a Person-Centered Organization as a Person-Centered Thinking Coach. Catherine has also worked in the education system, focusing primarily on early childhood education. She was a Lead Child Development Teacher at the Monfort Early Childhood Education Center, and interim elementary school counselor, and taught kindergarten in a private school. Catherine was born in Oklahoma and earned her Master of Social Work degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.
